Below is a listing of planned Club projects/work parties. These projects can be used towards the new members work obligations. Participants must coordinate with respective activity coordinator prior to event.  Interested persons can contact the coordinator at the regular club meetings, which are held at 7:30pm in the main club house on every second Friday of each month.

Sign-In Procedures for

Hunting Stocked Birds on the McVeigh Property

 

1.   At no time for the purpose of hunting small game (stocked birds, woodcock, rabbits, squirrels) will there be  

      any more than 15 Members permitted to hunt on the McVeigh Property, including non-stocking days.

 

2.   There will be one slot reserved for the Committee Chairman or his designee who will oversee stocking and

      starting times. The “Chairman, Vice Chairman or the Chairman’s Designee” of the Game Committee, have

      total Discretion on site should safety issues develop. The remaining slots will be filled on a first come

      first served basis.

 

MEMBERS MUST BE PRESENT TO BE SIGNED IN

(You cannot sign-in early or be signed-in to reserve a slot, or leave and then come back at starting time.)

 

3.   On stock days the only Non-Hunter Members permitted on the property are those assisting a Jr. Member

      and do not count as one of the 15 hunters. (Non-Hunters shall sign-in below the 15 line cut off and

      indicated in the note column that they are assisting Jr. Member (Name) they don’t take a numbered tag.)

                                                                      

4.  All Small Game Hunters will Sign-in in the Small Game Sign-In Book which will be used only for signing in

     to hunt Small Game, Turkeys Hunters sign-in regular sign-in book. On stocking days a line will be drawn

     across the bottom of the 15th sign-in space. 

     The following will be written under the 15th sign-in space:

 

UPON 15 SLOTS BEING FILLED SIGN-IN IS CLOSED UNTIL A MEMBER SIGNS OUT

 

5.  On Stocking Days upon signing in take a tag from the tag board in the shed that corresponds to your sign-in

     number and hang it from the rearview mirror of the vehicle you came in.

 

6.   Members shall sign-out and return their tag upon returning to the parking lot so another member can log    

      in their tag number, time-in and start hunting. If there are tags on the board the next hunter can take the 

      tag and log in and start hunting as specified above.

 

7.   Members that arrive after all 15 slots have been filled, in order to reserve the next available slot shall sign-

      in and ONLY enter their time-in time  upon  one of the 15 signed in members signing out. The member

      shall take the tag from the member signing out and log it in as his/her tag number.

 

ONE HUNTER SIGNS-OUT ONE HUNTER SIGNS-IN

 

8.   In the event that a member arrives and no tags are on the board and upon checking the sign-in log finds

      that someone did not return their tag the member shall write in the note column,  Example; Tag #1 not

      turned in and the member may start hunting.  There must be a time out logged before you log your time

      in or you will be considered hunting in excess of 15 hunters.

 

 

9.   Any member including the Committee Chairman or any other Committee Member who hunts between

       9:00 AM and 12 Noon on the first stocking of the weekend may not hunt on the second stocking (even if   

       there are open slots) before 12 noon, and as specified above. No member will be permitted to hunt both 

       an AM and PM session on the same day.

There will be an additional 15 slots as above for additional sign-ins

 

SAFETY RULES

 

Safety Precautions and Reminders to WFSC, Inc. Members

 

1.   The McVeigh property will be closed to small game hunting WITH DOGS from November 1st. through the   

       last day of rifle deer season in December.

 

2.   Respect the areas marked “NO SHOOTING ZONE” or “SAFETY ZONE” these will be STRICTLY ENFORCED.  

      DO NOT GO OFF THE ROAD AND ENTER A SAFETY ZONE, THE NEIGHBORS MAY THINK THAT YOU ARE 

      HUNTING.               

 

3.   Only members can hunt on Club property. (No Guests for any reason regardless of age or family status.)

 

4.   There must be one adult member present for every junior member hunting stocked birds and only one

       junior member may hunt in the same group with a maximum of 3 members per group including a non- 

       hunter.

 

5.   NO FIREARMS ARE TO BE LOADED IN THE PARKING LOT OR CARRIED LOADED WHEN WALKING IN WITH 

      THE GROUP AT STARTING TIME.  ACTIONS SHALL BE KEPT OPEN. FIREARMS MAY ONLY BE LOADED 

      WHEN YOU BREAK AWAY FROM THE GROUP TO START HUNTINGACTIONS SHOULD BE OPEN WHEN IN

      GROUPS AND NOT ACTUALLY HUNTING.  ALWAYS THINK SAFETY- SAFETY- SAFETY FIRST!!!!

 

6.   All Members must sign in and out and record and tag all stocked birds taken.

 

7.   Once a Member has bagged his/her limit of birds they MUST control or leash their dogs and leave unless

       hunting with someone else.

 

8.   Training dogs on club released birds is prohibited. There will be no dog training on weekends or any 

       stocking day. If you want to train your dog on birds you must purchase your own birds and may do so  

      during the week.

 

9.   No shooting of STOCKED BIRDS on the ground. Birds should be at least 12 feet off the ground to ensure

       that you are not shooting at the level of another hunter.

 

10.   For safety purposes the Club recommends the wearing of BLAZE ORANGE clothing.

 

11. No Member will be permitted to drive past the parking lot unless they are a part of the stocking

       contingent that day.

 

12. UNLESS OTHERWISE AUTHORIZED BY THE GAME CHAIRMAN THE DAILY BAG LIMIT WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

2 Pheasants per day, or

3 Partridges per day

 

13. UNLESS OTHERWISE POSTED STARTING TIMES FOR HUNTING STOCKED BIRDS WILL BE AS FOLLOWS:

 

All stocking days 9 a.m. (No Hunting Will Begin Until All Stocking Team Members Have Returned

From Stocking And A Committee Member Has Given Approval to Start Hunting).

 

Saturday & Sunday 9 a.m.       Monday - Friday 8 a.m.

 

Note: Stocking day time subject to change due to weather conditions.

Stocking for this Saturday 10/27 has been cancelled. The weather forecast is calling for a Nor’easter with 100% chance of rain on Saturday. The grounds will be soaked for Sunday 10/28 which they are also calling for a 30% chance of rain. Therefore stocking on 10/28 is also not happening.
